A slightly newer, more up-to-date boiler that many people are choosing over a pumped/vented Central Heating system is a sealed system. No water tanks are needed with the sealed system. This unvented system eliminates water tanks and attic plumbing, thus giving a number of advantages.

- As opposed to pumped/vented systems there is no need for maintenance work on tanks or pipes.
- Reduces the risk of leaking.
- As there are no open vents, air cannot enter into the system and so the risk of corrosion, air locks and sludge is drastically decreased.
- The mains water supply can flush the sealed system if needed.
A sealed Central Heating System is a packaged unit with all the necessary controls and safety devices. A sealed Central Heating System uses water that comes directly from the main water supply. The mains water goes straight to the sealed system.
Normal variations of pressure can be allowed in a sealed system through a pressure vessel that contains compressed gas; this is separated from the sealed system water by a diaphragm. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Gas Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.
Central Heating systems are a great way to keep your home warm, also they don’t cost you as much as the other systems would. And they provide you with much more control and choice when it comes to your heating compared to any other systems.
