Reclaim space with a combination gas boiler
Combination gas boiler systems offer many space saving and gas economy benefits for the tiny dwelling house. It is possible to put in a complete central heating and hot water system by buying only a gas powered combi boiler with a balanced flue. All that is additionally required to heat your home is some copper pipe and a number of radiators. Your first reaction maybe that we had forgotten some components. The hot water storage cylinder, the feed and enlargement cylinder commonly put in the attic, the central heating pump and other component pieces that central heating and hot water systems seem to need.
It may surprise you to learn that a combination boiler does not need these parts. With a combination you can dispense with the hot water storage tank, you do not want a feed and expansion cylinder up in the loft, the combi boiler contains the other component parts inside its casing. Adopting this system means you can save a significant amount of storage space.
Do not think that all this is new as combi gas boilers have been installed for a while now. The combi has been more popular in the Continent than in the U.K., but is now being fitted more frequently as an alternative to the conventional wall mounted heating boiler. There are two major differences to be highlighted when likened with conventional gas boilers. The first is that hot water passes around around a sealed system when heating the central heating. Having no open vents there is no call for for a feed and enlargement cylinder in the attic. The gas boiler itself incorporates a large capacity enlargement cylinder but again this is part of the sealed unit.
Hot water is developed as you require it, switching on a hot water tap will alert the gas boiler to this need. Cold water is quickly heated up by the use of an economical heat exchanger. Hot water in the central heating system is used to instantly heat the heat exchanger. This mechanism quickly heats cold mains water before it is flowing out on the hot water tap.
Hot water provision to the radiators is a lower priority than the output of immediate hot water for the dwelling house. The radiators are supplied with hot water once the tap is shut.
It is feasible to set up a new heating boiler in a tiny flat and not need a great amount of room.
