How many diverse forms of central heating gas boiler are there

There are a number of sorts of Gas Central Heating Systems on the market nowadays. These systems for the most part are made up of a number of central heating radiators, pipework and of course a gas central heating boiler.

Across the majority of Northern Europe the climate is not warm enough to warrant air conditioning. Many of us find proper heating a necessity; as a result most of the new houses being constructed today are built with a Gas Central Heating System.

Heating is essential, particularly whens winter is heading our way. You can make your home more comfortable, pleasing and relaxing by heating it with Gas Central Heating. Therefore your heating system needs to be efficient and reliable. A good central heating system should inspire confidence, give value for money and be simple to operate.

Two kinds of Gas Central Heating Systems are mainly in use; pumped/vented and sealed systems.

Pumped/vented systems are the ones that many homes have and they have the most components resulting in potentially higher maintenance costs. A pumped/vented Central Heating System includes components known as a feed and expansion tank to allow for the expansion of water as it is heated in the central heating radiators. The hot water tank performs two functions; firstly, supply hot water to your house, and secondly, provides heat to the radiators. The tank makes way for any water expansion that is caused by the heating process. It is normally placed at the highest place of the house like the attic area, taking up space. The hot water tank has two main functions; to heat the house and and provide hot water for washing.

A lot of older homes have pumped/vented Gas Central Heating systems.

A slightly newer, more up-to-date heating boiler that many people are choosing over a pumped/vented Central Heating system is a sealed system. This system doesn’t have water tanks as it’s a closed heating system, this will save you space and reduce maintenance costs as there are fewer components. The attic has no tanks or piping, the system is completely enclosed and locked, it’s not ventilated, and that has its advantages:.

- Frozen loft pipes are no longer a problem.

- No maintenance work on the tank or pipes that would be in the loft in a pumped/vented system.

- This diminishes the chances of a possible leakage.

- Reduced risk of air locks, corrosion and sludge as there isn’t a chance of air being drawn down into the system through open vents as the system is sealed.

- If necessary, the system can be flushed out under pressure using the main water supply.

Such a Sealed Central Heating System is installed with all the required gauges, controls and safeguards. No tank feeds a sealed system, the supply comes directly from the mains. The mains water goes direct to the sealed system.

Separated from the sealed system by a diaphragm is a pressure vessel, which contains compressed gas; this vessel is responsible for managing variations of pressure in the heating system. Pressure buildup in a Sealed system can be relieved by a safety valve which drains out water; and pressure drop is compensated by automatic fresh intake of water via another valve.

Compared to any other form of heating, Gas Central Heating systems are by far the most practical and economical. Furthermore, they offer all kinds of control, which are usually not found in other heating systems giving you a more pleasant environment.
