Households have diverse types of heating system

Various types of Central Heating Systems are available in the central heating market. Most if not all of these Gas Central Heating Systems comprise of a boiler, some heating radiators and connecting pipework.

In most parts of the UK air conditioning is hardly needed because of the average temperatures of those regions. In fact, a decent heating system is a necessity in these regions, and due to this, a majority of new houses have a Central Heating system.

With the onset of winter, heating becomes crucial to warming your home. While blizzards rage on outside, you can be safe and warm on the inside. Your Central Heating System needs to be reliable. You Gas Central Heating System must give you the feeling of assurance that it is safe, simple to use with a long life.

Vented (or pumped) and Sealed heating systems are the two most common types available.

Pumped or vented Central Heating systems are most popularly used. Heating systems using the pump or vent process are equipped with a tank to allow for feeding of replacement water and expansion of heated water. Your house gets hot water through the stored hot water tank, it also supplies heat to the heating radiators. Water expands when heated; this expansion is accommodated in a feed-expansion tank. The tank is positioned at the point of maximum height, usually in the attic area to create water pressure. It not only heats the house, but also supplies hot water.

A lot of older homes have pumped/vented Central Heating systems.

A slightly newer central heating boiler is sealed heating system and this is the preferred heating system in newer properties. A sealed system, as the name suggests is a closed system so no water tanks are needed. There are no tanks or pipework in the loft, the whole system is sealed, its unvented, which has its benefits:.

- There is no risk of pipes freezing in the loft as with older systems.

- No maintenance work on the tank or pipes that would be in the attic in a pumped/vented system.

- The risk of leakage is reduced as there are fewer pipes and the system is less complex.

- The risk of airlocks, corroding and sludge are reduced because there won’t be any air being taken down into the system through the open holes as the system is sealed.

- The mains water supply can flush the sealed system if required.

Such a Sealed Gas Central Heating System is installed with all the required gauges, controls and safeguards. The water for a sealed Gas Central Heating System is supplied direct from the main water supply. It is plumbed straight into the main water supply.

Separated from the sealed system by a diaphragm is a pressure vessel, which contains compressed gas; this vessel is responsible for managing variations of pressure in the heating system. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.

Gas Central Heating Systems are a worthwhile investment as they have the lowest cost of performance when compared with other types of heating. And they provide you with much more control and choice when it comes to your heating compared to any other systems.
