Homes have diverse types of heating system

There are a number of sorts of Gas Central Heating Systems on the market nowadays. Most of them consist of a set of heating radiators, a heating boiler and copper pipework.

Due to the average temperature that is seen across the United Kingdom and northern Europe , people barely find the need for air conditioning. That is why in the UK most houses built these days are made with Central Heating Systems fully integrated into the home.

With the onset of winter, heating becomes crucial to warming your home. You can make your home more comfortable, pleasing and relaxing by heating it with Gas Central Heating. So you want to be sure that your Central Heating System is dependable. It is essential to have peace of mind that your Central Heating System is not only practical to use but also safe.

Vented (or pumped) and Sealed heating systems are the two most common types available.

Pumped/vented systems are the ones that many homes have and they have the most components resulting in potentially higher maintenance costs. An expansion tank is present in a pumped heating system. The tank supplies your house with hot water and provides the radiators with heat. The tank makes way for any water expansion that is caused by the heating process. It is normally placed at the highest place of the house like the loft area, taking up space. It serves a dual purpose by heating the house and also supplying heated water.

Older homes generally have pumped/vented Central Heating systems.

A slightly newer, more up-to-date boiler that many people are choosing over a pumped/vented Central Heating system is a sealed system. A sealed system, as the name suggests is a closed system so no water tanks are needed. The attic has no tanks or piping, the system is completely enclosed and locked, it’s not ventilated, and that has its advantages:.

- No risk of freezing pipes in the loft.

- There won’t be any repair work on the tank or pipes which will be in the attic for a pumped/vented system.

- Because the system is not vented, there is less chance of water leaking out.

- The risk of airlocks, corrosion and gunk are reduced because there won’t be any air being taken down into the system through the open holes as the system is sealed.

- It is possible to flush out the system if required by using the mains water supply.

Such a Sealed Gas Central Heating System is installed with all the required gauges, controls and safeguards. No tank feeds a sealed system, the supply comes directly from the mains. The main water supply feeds the system directly under pressure.

Normal variations of pressure can be allowed in a sealed system through a pressure vessel that contains compressed gas; this is separated from the sealed system water by a diaphragm. If the pressure is very high in the system, then the water will escape from the safety valve, and if the pressure is too low, then the safety valve will open to let the water in.

Gas Central Heating systems are a great way to keep your home warm, also they don’t cost you as much as the other systems would. They also provide you with complete control which is much more than other heating systems can say about themselves.
